( Extra) The film before the film

The first person to use a title sequence at the beginning of a film was Thomas Edison who used a text board with handwritten credentials which would display the company and make a copyright note as proof of his work in 1897. This then lead to the development in sound within films which were able to draw the audience in by intriguing them with the music. This also meant that the rightful producers of the films would get credited so there was no confusion as to who the film rights belonged to.

In 1987 , the film superman was the first to obtain a new generation of an opening title sequence , however this wasn't the last advance. A couple of years later, software such as after effects and premium for came around allowing the text in the opening credits to become animated therefore setting a tone to the audience and engaging the audience.
