EVALUATION Question 7

Sound design:
- We have included about 3 different soundscapes throughout our title sequence, one for the production company and one different one for the distribution company which are both expressed at the start of the title sequence and is then followed by the main soundscape that is a soft piano played in the background to create a subtle effect towards the audience.
- Also we have muted the dialogue throughout some shots since we had unnecessary talking in the background.
Casting auditions:
Throughout the duration of our title sequence we were expected to have a cast acting throughout, we included two main actors (that were in our group) therefore it was easier to shoot during lessons. We didn't involve other people due to the fact of trust since it's our coursework as a group and if someone we asked to act is unable to when we need them it could potentially push our overall grade down, thats why we stayed clear of that.
Audience feedback:
- We have conveyed an emotive feel towards the audience since the last rough cut we showed to the class (we didn't entice the audience).
- Improvements: Our title name 'Years Later' looked a bit out of place and did not fit to the conventions of our film, they suggested for us to include a transition and to change the font to a more serious looking slim typography to suit the film, since it looked similar to an animated version.
- We were advised to include a time reference to make it clearer to the audience (to include a specific time frame and also needed to look smaller).
- Teachers comments:
- Music is emotive.
- Ident sound needs to be unique.
- Some shots are moving when should be cutting.
- Pan needs to be cut since the camera movement wasn't stable.
- Mise-en-scene: the grave we used to shoot it was very old and in our film the actor had just died recently so it doesn't really fit.
- Good voiceover.
- Dialogue: quiet although you are able to hear it.

Evaluation of rough cut 2 (based on the feedback)
When we showed the class our rough cut 2 it was clear that our sequence has improved a lot from the first one as we have re shot scenes to make everything match e.g the burning picture scene. Also the voice over we put in allows the audience to connect with the sequence emotionally, as it explains to them the background story that wouldn't have been able to be explained through dialogue. We have also now added in sound that plays in the background of the dialogue this was so the audience's attention was never detached from what is going on.However for improvement we need to have different sounds for our ident and distribution company which we will do in the editing process. Also the sound we are using needs to be quite because it could be difficult for the audience to be hearing the dialogue and voice over. Now we are just putting in our tittle credits and adjusting the sequence for the final version.
As well as this we were advised put a time on the name of our title as 'years later' seemed too vague.
EVIDENCE OF EDITING
This is our group editing and finishing up the final touches for our sequence and creating the tittle credits.

Editing Update
In todays 1 hour 40 min lesson , we have started to add simple titles and are currently adding actors names. We still have a couple of others things beside titles to do (such as muting background noise , changing our music for our Ident and adding transition ). Our aim is to get this all done and submitted by Thursday and in order to ensure we meet this deadline , we are going to go to workshop on both Wednesday and Thursday giving us an extra 2 hours to work on what ever we need to.

Evaluation Rough Cut 2
When showing our second rough cut to the class, we got the feedback that our opening had massively changed for the better as we had re-filmed certain scenes which were previously shakey such as the graveyard scene and this ensured that the scences were stable in order to make sure the audience do not get distracted by the footage been shakey. In addition we also added several layer of sounds such as a piano piece called experience which we got from a copy-right free website which the audience seemed to enjoy as it was said to have evoked emotion and create the mood and atmosphere of sadness. We also added a layer of a voice-over in order to allow the audeince to understand to what is going on in the story and to create empthaty towards the main character over what has happened with her bestfriend. However we got the feedback that we needed to adust our sound as at times we can't hear what some of the dialogue is as the music is a bit too loud. Futhermore we also need to change the sound in our ident as we currently have the same sound for the distibution company and production company. Our next step now is to add titles in to our opening and personally I would like to finalise the sound and colour adjustment.Thursday, 12 January 2017

Casting Auditions

For our media production we decided to use two of the characters from our group as it was easier to give them call times due to them having similar schedules. In addition , we found that using member from our own group would ensure that everyone is as committed as everyone has something to lose where as other people may not be reliable as it isn't important to them.We set up our first twitter to allow people to stay up to date with what we are doing. Feel free to follow !!
Background Explained
Blogger background explained
Although our genre isn't horror, our background is dark and if you look closely you can see a face which implies that although one of the characters is dead , she is always watching you in a spirit way.Monday, 2 January 2017

Three things i can do in order to develop my blog:
Three things i can do in order to develop my blog:
- Include more examples and details in my blog posts all set and ready by the deadline.
- Different ways in illustrating each blog post.
- Develop my work, including visuals not just text in each blog post.
Setting targets
The three things I could do in order to develop my blog are...
- Complete tasks as soon as possible. For example the storyboard and shot list.
- Aim to use different visual creative type to present work instead using the same one again and again.
- Include as much detail as possible.
